Gracious Sendoff (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a digital memorial platform built by Vumi Studio in Nairobi, Kenya. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe.

When you use Gracious Sendoff, we may collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name and email address when you sign up or log in.
• Memorial content: Names, dates, biographies, tributes, photos, and other media you upload to create a memorial page.
• Payment information: Payment details are processed securely by our payment providers (Stripe and Paystack). We do not store your full card number or bank details on our servers.
• Usage data: Basic analytics such as page views and device type to help us improve the platform.

We use your information to:

• Create and display memorial pages as you instruct.
• Process payments for memorial plans.
• Send you important emails about your memorial (e.g., expiry reminders).
• Provide customer support when you reach out.
• Improve the platform based on usage patterns.

We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud services. Account data and memorial content are stored in Supabase (hosted on secure cloud infrastructure). Photos and media files are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with appropriate access controls.

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no system can guarantee absolute security.

We rely on the following trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

• Stripe: International payment processing.
• Paystack: African payment processing (M-Pesa, mobile money, cards).
• Supabase: Database and authentication.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Media file storage.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Modify your memorial content or account information at any time.
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Export your memorial content using the export feature in your dashboard.

We use minimal cookies, primarily for authentication (keeping you logged in) and essential platform functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is needed because our cookies are strictly necessary for the service to function.

Gracious Sendoff is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
